Starters

Movers

At this A1 level, students can understand and use words and sentences in common topics and situations. They can follow more complex stories and texts

Flyers

At this A2 level, students can understand and use a wide range of language and follow various complex stories and texts, including those aimed at native-speaker children.

Teens & Adults Levels

Beginner

  • Understands and uses common everyday expressions and fundamental phrases aimed at satisfying concrete needs.
  • Introduce himself/herself and others, as well as ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows, and possessions.
  • Interact in a straightforward manner if the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to assist.

Elementary

  • Comprehend sentences and frequently used expressions pertaining to the most immediate relevance (e.g. fundamental personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
  • Communicate in simple and routine tasks that necessitate a direct and simple exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
  • Describe aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters of immediate need in simple terms.

Intermediate

  • Understands the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters encountered on a regular basis at work, school, leisure, and so on.
  • Deal with the majority of situations that may arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken.
  • Generate simple linked text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
  • Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, and briefly explain reasons and plans.

Upper-Intermediate

  • Comprehend complex texts’ main ideas on concrete and abstract topics.
  • Interact with a level of fluency and spontaneity that allows for regular interaction with native speakers without strain on either side.
  • Write clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a point of view on a current issue, including the benefits and drawbacks of various options.

Advanced

  • Comprehend a wide range of difficult, longer texts and recognize implicit meaning.
  • Express himself/herself fluently and spontaneously without obvious searching for words.
  • Use language in a variety of social, academic, and professional contexts.
  • Write clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects using organizational patterns, connectors, and cohesive devices in a controlled manner.

Proficiency

  • Comprehend almost everything heard or read with ease.
  • Summarize information from various spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts into a logical presentation.
  • Express himself or herself spontaneously, fluently, and precisely, distinguishing finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
